About the Dark Souls template
Bonfire glows against ash-gray emptiness: Dark Souls amber and char—Retro Gaming suggests difficulty, persistence, and epic struggles. Perfect for punishing games, souls-like experiences, and hardcore communities that celebrate uncompromising challenge. Your audience expects an aesthetic that matches difficulty. Real-time analytics track which hardcore, difficulty-forward messaging builds loyal community.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Ashbound, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Rest. Reflect. Get back up.” and the subhead says “A late-night journaling app for stubborn people, with short prompts that help you log each setback and plan the next attempt.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Dark Souls, you replace Ashbound with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Dark Souls is a dark template: a near-black vermilion background (#1c0e02), pale orange type (#fed7aa) and a vivid orange accent (#f59e0b) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 13.9:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with glowing embers rising, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Spotlight layout, shared with 111 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Dark Souls's own.

How it compares
Within Retro / Gaming, Dark Souls stands out for its vivid orange accent on a near-black vermilion ground. If it is not quite right, Synthwave Sunset is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and the odd shooting star (“Neon grid into the horizon”). Elden Ring is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and shafts of light falling through the frame (“Erdtree gold, lands between”). Skyrim Grey is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and gently falling snow (“Tundra grey, dragon shout”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
