Referral waitlist with a share-to-climb leaderboard
A referral waitlist gives every subscriber a personal link and moves them up the line when friends join through it. On Qubed, each successful referral moves the subscriber 3spots closer to the front, and your dashboard ranks your top referrers. It's built into all 1,000 templates and free on every plan.

How it works
How the viral waitlist loop works
Four steps, no code and nothing to configure. Every Qubed page runs this loop out of the box.
A visitor joins with their email
They land on your page, type an email and hit the button. The signup is checked and saved on our server, so the queue is the same for everyone.
They get a place in line and a personal link
The success screen shows their position ("You're #48 in line") and a link that is theirs alone, in the form qubed.xyz/your-page?ref=code.
They share it in one tap
Buttons for X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook and email, a copy button, and the phone's native share sheet where the browser supports it.
Every friend who joins moves them up 3 spots
Their position becomes their original spot minus 3 for each friend who joined through the link, and it never goes below #1.
Illustration · example numbers
The math is simple and public: effective position = original position − (referrals × 3), never lower than #1. Someone who joined at #48 and brings three friends is #39. For the full mechanics, read how referrals work in the docs.
The leaderboard
See who is spreading the word
Two views of the same race: one for your subscribers, one for you.
For subscribers: a live place in line
After joining, each person sees their position and a ladder of how many friends it takes to reach the front. Every friend who joins through their link moves them 3 spots up.
For you: top referrers in the dashboard
Your stats page ranks the five subscribers who brought in the most signups, next to signups over time and referral versus direct joins. Export the full list to CSV to reward them.
Anti-fraud basics
Built to keep the line fair
A referral race only works if nobody can cheat it cheaply. These checks run on every signup today.
Server-side queue
Positions, duplicate checks and referral credit are calculated on the server against the whole list. Nothing a visitor's browser sends can set their own place in line.
One signup per email
Emails are normalized to lowercase and the database rejects a second signup for the same address on the same page, even when two requests race.
Rate limits per network
At most 5 signups per minute and 30 per hour from one IP address. A script hammering your form gets turned away before anything is written.
A honeypot for bots
The form carries a hidden field that people never see. Bots that fill in every field get a normal-looking response and nothing is saved.
No self-referral
A referral code only counts on the page it belongs to, and the referrer must already be on the list, so nobody can credit a signup to themselves.
Disposable-email blocking and MX checks are not available yet. For more on keeping a list clean, see anti-fraud and rate limits and our guide to stopping fake waitlist signups.
FAQ
Referral waitlist FAQ
What is a referral waitlist?
A referral waitlist is a pre-launch signup list where each subscriber gets a personal invite link and moves up the line when friends join through it. On Qubed, each successful referral moves the referrer 3 spots closer to the front.
Why 3 spots per referral?
3 spots is our default: enough that sharing visibly pays off after one or two friends, without letting a handful of referrals leapfrog hundreds of people. It's the same on every page today.
Is there a public leaderboard on my page?
Subscribers see their own live position and a ladder showing how many friends it takes to reach the front. The ranked list of your top referrers lives in your dashboard, so you can reward them without publishing anyone's email.
Does the referral system cost extra?
No. Referral links, the share panel and top-referrer stats are included on every plan, Free included, and in every template.
Can I turn referrals off?
Yes. The editor has separate switches for showing the referral panel and showing a subscriber's position, so you can run a plain email list and switch the viral loop on later.
Can I export who referred whom?
The CSV export includes every subscriber's email, referral code, position, referral count, status and signup date, so you can rank and reward your top referrers in any tool you like.
