About the Orion Belt template

What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Skystitch, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Point your phone. Name the stars.” and the subhead says “Skystitch overlays constellation lines and their stories on the live night sky, even with no signal out camping.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Orion Belt, you replace Skystitch with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Orion Belt is a dark template: a near-black blue background (#020617), white type (#fafafa) and a cream accent (#fef3c7) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 19.3:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with constellations that join star by star, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Star Wars Galaxy layout, shared with 23 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Orion Belt's own.

How it compares
Within Sci-Fi, Orion Belt stands out for its cream accent on a near-black blue ground. If it is not quite right, Matrix is also dark but leans on an emerald accent and green code raining down the screen (“Falling code rain. Pure cyberpunk”). Star Wars Galaxy is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and an opening crawl through a starfield (“Parallax starfield, far far away”). Andromeda Swirl is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and a turning spiral galaxy (“Galactic spiral, dust lane”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
