About the Blackberry Pearl template
Blackberry Pearl channels the tactile millennium—trackball clicks and deep grey, the palette of devices you could feel in your palm. Perfect for Y2K nostalgia projects, phone-history communities, and brands built on 2000s muscle memory. Every interaction suggests thumb-scroll and pearl click.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Keystead, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Private mail with a satisfying click” and the subhead says “Keystead is end-to-end encrypted email for small teams, built around keyboard shortcuts and zero ad tracking.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Blackberry Pearl, you replace Keystead with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Blackberry Pearl is a dark template: a charcoal background (#1c1917), white type (#fafafa) and a mid grey accent (#a3a3a3) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.8:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with floating chrome orbs, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Blackberry Pearl's own.

How it compares
Within Y2K, Blackberry Pearl stands out for its mid grey accent on a charcoal ground. If it is not quite right, Flip Phone flips to a light pale sky blue canvas with a light violet accent and floating chrome orbs (“Razr silver, T9 keys”). iPod White flips to a light white canvas with a near-black accent and ripples spreading across still water (“Click wheel, click click”). iPod Nano flips to a light green canvas with a near-black accent and bouncing equalizer bars (“Anodized green nano”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
