About the Rare Books template
Vellum binding cracked with age, gold gilt catching candlelight—Rare Books evokes ancient libraries where first editions sleep. Suited to academic institutions, literary presses, or brands steeped in intellectual heritage. The palette feels illuminated, precious, guarded. Your custom domain becomes a library catalog entry, indexed and archived for centuries.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches First Edition, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Rare books, found for you.” and the subhead says “Tell us the book you've always wanted; our dealers hunt it down across auctions and dusty shops.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Rare Books, you replace First Edition with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Rare Books is a dark template: a near-black vermilion background (#1c0e02), cream type (#fef3c7) and a vivid amber accent (#fbbf24) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.9:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with scattered sparkles, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Editorial layout, shared with 55 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Rare Books's own.

How it compares
Within Dark Academia, Rare Books stands out for its vivid amber accent on a near-black vermilion ground. If it is not quite right, Rainy Quad is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and falling rain streaks (“Stone arch, ivy wet”). Ancient Greek flips to a light white canvas with a brown accent and veined marble swirling (“Marble bust, parchment”). Latin Motto is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and an animated pages layer (“Carved stone, school crest”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
