About the Datadog Purple template

What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Lumenlog, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Logs, metrics and traces on one timeline.” and the subhead says “Lumenlog correlates your logs, metrics and traces automatically, so the answer to 'what broke?' is one click away.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Datadog Purple, you replace Lumenlog with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Datadog Purple is a dark template: a deep indigo background (#0c0a1a), pale violet type (#e9d5ff) and a violet accent (#a855f7) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 14.4:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with an animated charts layer, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Datadog Purple's own.

How it compares
Within Tech, Datadog Purple stands out for its violet accent on a deep indigo ground. If it is not quite right, Grafana Orange is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and an animated charts layer (“Dashboard amber on slate”). Kubernetes Blue is also dark but leans on a vivid blue accent and an animated containers layer (“Container blue helm”). Docker Navy is also dark but leans on a vivid sky blue accent and an animated containers layer (“Whale navy, container ship”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
