About the Next.js Black template
Pure black on white rejects ornament entirely—a brutalist approach that forces every word to earn its place. Built for minimal product galleries, code samples, and SDK announcements where clarity outweighs decoration, this monochromatic layout makes text the design system. Custom domains let your brand name appear in the URL, turning every visitor into a walking endorsement.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Boilerless, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Skip the boilerplate. Start with the product.” and the subhead says “Boilerless is a production-ready starter kit with auth, billing, email and a dashboard, so your first commit is a feature.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Next.js Black, you replace Boilerless with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Next.js Black is a dark template: a near-black background (#000000), white type (#fafafa) and a white accent (#fafafa) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 20.1:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with a slow-twinkling starfield, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Next.js Black's own.

How it compares
Within Tech, Next.js Black stands out for its white accent on a near-black ground. If it is not quite right, Remix Blue is also dark but leans on a sky blue accent and a network of nodes linking up (“Web fundamentals, cobalt”). Svelte Orange is also dark but leans on a vivid vermilion accent and flowing contour lines (“Compile orange, pure JS”). Astro Purple is also dark but leans on a violet accent and slowly orbiting planets (“Island architecture purple”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
