About the Gruvbox Dark template
Gruvbox Dark taps into the beloved retro Unix aesthetic—warm amber accents (#fabd2f) on gunmetal-gray (#282828) with cream text (#ebdbb2). This Terminal category template feels like an experienced developer's safe space. There's no chrome, no marketing speak; just honest, monospace-ready comfort. Developers trust what they recognize. Use a custom domain to make this waitlist feel like your actual product, not a marketing gimmick.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Owlhour FM, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Music for the 3 a.m. merge” and the subhead says “Owlhour FM is a round-the-clock stream of warm, wordless beats curated for deep work, with no ads and no talking.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Gruvbox Dark, you replace Owlhour FM with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Gruvbox Dark is a dark template: a charcoal background (#282828), light amber type (#ebdbb2) and a vivid orange accent (#fabd2f) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 10.7:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with glowing embers rising, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Cyber-Glitch layout, shared with 84 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Gruvbox Dark's own.

How it compares
Within Terminal, Gruvbox Dark stands out for its vivid orange accent on a charcoal ground. If it is not quite right, Dracula Violet is also dark but leans on a light violet accent and bats flitting past (“Vampire purple shell”). Monokai Pro is also dark but leans on a light amber accent and an animated code editor layer (“Crispy mono, syntax warmth”). One Dark is also dark but leans on a green accent and concentric orbits (“Atom dark, syntax green”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
