About the Hotdog Stand template
Hotdog Stand is a deliberate, unironic homage to the worst color disasters of early Windows—pure black background, screaming yellow accent, and hot red text that assault the retinas in the best way. This is for the retro-web purist, the digital artist doing ugly on purpose, the agency that wants to make people uncomfortable enough to pay attention. What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Cursorama, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Ugly on purpose. Loud by design.” and the subhead says “Cursorama is a browser-based retro desktop where you build a personal homepage out of draggable windows, clip art, and questionable colors.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Hotdog Stand, you replace Cursorama with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Hotdog Stand is a dark template: a near-black background (#000000), vivid red type (#ff0000) and a vivid yellow accent (#ffff00) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 5.3:1 contrast ratio against the background, which clears WCAG AA for body copy. Behind the copy the page animates with drifting pixel blocks, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Cyber-Glitch layout, shared with 84 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Hotdog Stand's own.

How it compares
Within Terminal, Hotdog Stand stands out for its vivid yellow accent on a near-black ground. If it is not quite right, Phosphor Pink is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and CRT scanlines (“Hot pink CRT, scanlines”). Catppuccin Mocha is also dark but leans on a light violet accent and scrolling terminal output (“Latte-warm dark”). Rose Pine is also dark but leans on a rose accent and petals drifting down (“Soho rose, pine bg”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
