About the Waiting Room template
Waiting Room bathes you in warm beige—a pot-plant in the corner, a wicker chair, the gentle pastiche of 1980s interior design frozen in vaporwave amber. Vaporwave nostalgia appeals to indie artists, experimental music producers, and brands embracing retro-future aesthetics. The referral leaderboard surfaces your most nostalgic advocates like vinyl record spins.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Take a Number, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Your name will be called shortly” and the subhead says “A short exploration game set in an endless beige waiting room, where every potted plant and ticket number hides a way out.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Waiting Room, you replace Take a Number with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Waiting Room is a light template: a cream background (#fef3c7), deep violet type (#1a0a2e) and a light violet accent (#a78bfa) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.7:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with slow-morphing gradient blobs, kept quiet behind the copy; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Waiting Room's own.

How it compares
Within Vaporwave, Waiting Room stands out for its light violet accent on a cream ground. If it is not quite right, Parking Garage flips to a dark dark grey canvas with an emerald accent and hard-edged brutalist blocks (“Concrete glow, exit green”). Empty Hallway flips to a dark deep violet canvas with a light pink accent and a receding neon grid (“Long carpet, no end”). 90s Atrium is also light but leans on a vivid cyan accent and Memphis-style squiggles and shapes (“Tile floor, glass elevator”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
