About the NES Red template
Cartridge-crimson blocks pulse against dark nostalgia in this Retro/Gaming template invoking 8-bit memory and pixelated dreams. The arcade-red palette speaks to indie game devs, retro enthusiasts, and creators mining childhood for cool. Real-time analytics count your player one arcade score.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Blowcart, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Old cartridges, brand-new saves” and the subhead says “Mail us your dusty cartridges and we clean the pins, replace dead save batteries, and ship them back ready to play.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use NES Red, you replace Blowcart with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
NES Red is a dark template: a charcoal background (#1c1917), red-tinted white type (#fef2f2) and a red accent (#dc2626) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with drifting pixel blocks, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Cyber-Glitch layout, shared with 84 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are NES Red's own.

How it compares
Within Retro / Gaming, NES Red stands out for its red accent on a charcoal ground. If it is not quite right, Synthwave Sunset is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and the odd shooting star (“Neon grid into the horizon”). Mario Pipe flips to a light pale sky blue canvas with an emerald accent and stars streaking past at warp speed (“Sky blue + warp green”). Atari 2600 is also dark but leans on a red accent and CRT scanlines (“Wood-grain console, primaries”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
