About the Portal Orange template

Aperture Science chambers: pure black (#0a0a0a) holds Portal's signature orange (#f97316) that reads like portal edges tearing through reality. The pale blue text (#dbeafe) mirrors the blue portal partner. Built for puzzle game studios, Portal fans, and companies embracing test-chamber aesthetics. The color pairing is instantly recognizable to anyone who's fallen through Aperture's dangerous experiments. Perfect for physics-puzzle games, science-themed campaigns, and developer studios positioning themselves as innovative and slightly unhinged. Track which puzzle enthusiasts engage using real-time analytics.

What the demo shows

The live demo on this page launches Blinkgate, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Think in doors, not walls” and the subhead says “A first-person puzzle game where you place two linked doors anywhere and bend momentum to reach impossible ledges.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Portal Orange, you replace Blinkgate with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.

Design details

Portal Orange is a dark template: a near-black background (#0a0a0a), pale sky blue type (#dbeafe) and a vivid vermilion accent (#f97316) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.2:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with a swirling portal, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Portal Orange's own.

How it compares

Within Retro / Gaming, Portal Orange stands out for its vivid vermilion accent on a near-black ground. If it is not quite right, Synthwave Sunset is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and the odd shooting star (“Neon grid into the horizon”). Half-Life Lambda is also dark but leans on a vivid vermilion accent and a sweeping radar (“Lambda orange, Black Mesa”). Valorant Red is also dark but leans on a red accent and a glowing hex grid (“Tac shooter crimson”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
