About the 8-Bit Dungeon template
8-Bit Dungeon recreates roguelike gloom: dark brown-black background with warm orange accents and pale butter text evoking torchlit caves and 8-bit graphics. Indie game studios, retro gaming communities, and roguelike fans choose this palette because every pixel carries nostalgia weight. Orange-on-dark creates CRT monitor and DECmate aesthetic struggling to render torch-lit stone corridors, while referral leaderboard transforms recruitment into cooperative dungeon crawl.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Emberdeep, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Descend with one torch and no map” and the subhead says “A hand-pixeled dungeon crawler where your torch is your timer and every floor rearranges itself when it burns out.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use 8-Bit Dungeon, you replace Emberdeep with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
8-Bit Dungeon is a dark template: a brown background (#1a1410), cream type (#fef3c7) and a vivid orange accent (#f59e0b) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.4:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with drifting pixel blocks, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Matrix layout, shared with 16 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are 8-Bit Dungeon's own.

How it compares
Within Retro / Gaming, 8-Bit Dungeon stands out for its vivid orange accent on a brown ground. If it is not quite right, Synthwave Sunset is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and the odd shooting star (“Neon grid into the horizon”). Gameboy Green flips to a light chartreuse canvas with a deep green accent and drifting pixel blocks (“Four shades of LCD pea”). Arcade Neon is also dark but leans on a vivid rose accent and drifting pixel blocks (“High score, deep midnight”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
