About the Red Dead template
Sepia plains and gunsmoke haze evoke frontier-western mythology—a retro-gaming palette that appeals to cowboy-coded narratives, historical simulation games, and period-specific entertainment. The warm, faded earth tones and dark-brown accents create the mood of old gunpowder and faded saddle leather. Set a custom domain for each regional player community, building separate referral networks by frontier faction.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Dustmark, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Built for the long ride home” and the subhead says “Hand-stitched leather satchels, belts, and journals made in a small frontier-style workshop and aged like they've already seen the trail.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Red Dead, you replace Dustmark with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Red Dead is a dark template: a near-black vermilion background (#1c0e02), pale orange type (#fed7aa) and a brown accent (#92400e) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 13.9:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with shifting sand dunes, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Sunset layout, shared with 47 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Red Dead's own.

How it compares
Within Retro / Gaming, Red Dead stands out for its brown accent on a near-black vermilion ground. If it is not quite right, Synthwave Sunset is also dark but leans on a vivid pink accent and the odd shooting star (“Neon grid into the horizon”). Witcher Silver is also dark but leans on a pale sky blue accent and glowing runes (“Wolf medallion, snow”). Mass Effect is also dark but leans on a vivid cyan accent and slowly orbiting planets (“Citadel blue, Normandy”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
