About the Encarta Blue template
Encarta Blue channels CD-ROM encyclopedia magic: deep navy background with cyan accents and pale blue text evoking hyperlink-heavy early-2000s interfaces. Knowledge workers, educational startups, and nostalgic learners populate this template because it feels like searching digital knowledge rather than scrolling feeds. Cyan-on-navy creates specific Windows 95 aesthetic, and real-time analytics measure whether educational waitlist accumulates the right knowledge-seeker momentum.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Lexidisc, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Knowledge you can click around in” and the subhead says “Lexidisc is an interactive learning app with clickable maps, timelines, and mini-quizzes that turn rabbit holes into lessons.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Encarta Blue, you replace Lexidisc with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Encarta Blue is a dark template: a deep blue background (#0c1f3d), pale cyan type (#cffafe) and a vivid cyan accent (#06b6d4) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 14.7:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with concentric orbits, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Encarta Blue's own.

How it compares
Within Y2K, Encarta Blue stands out for its vivid cyan accent on a deep blue ground. If it is not quite right, Microsoft Bob flips to a light cream canvas with a deep blue accent and Memphis-style squiggles and shapes (“Bob house, friendly UI”). MS Paint flips to a light white canvas with a red accent and watercolour washes bleeding together (“Pixel splash, brush tool”). 3D Pipes is also dark but leans on a vivid cyan accent and circuit traces lighting up (“Drifting pipes, dim CRT”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
