About the Myspace Top 8 template
Myspace Top 8 resurrects the early-internet ritual of curating your closest friends in rank order—Tom's signature blue with cyan accents, the aesthetic of glitter-graphics and custom HTML. It's the template for nostalgia-driven communities, web-1.0-themed projects, and indie social platforms reclaiming the personal web. The color palette communicates permission to customize, to make it yours; every profile is unique by design. What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Eightfold, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Rank your friends. Pick your song.” and the subhead says “Eightfold is a customizable profile page with a featured-friends grid, a profile song, and CSS you can fully mess with.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Myspace Top 8, you replace Eightfold with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Myspace Top 8 is a dark template: a deep blue background (#0c1233), white type (#fafafa) and a vivid cyan accent (#22d3ee) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 17.5:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with scattered sparkles, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Cyber-Glitch layout, shared with 84 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Myspace Top 8's own.

How it compares
Within Y2K, Myspace Top 8 stands out for its vivid cyan accent on a deep blue ground. If it is not quite right, Xanga Diary is also dark but leans on a light violet accent and petals drifting down (“Diary purple, blogroll”). LiveJournal flips to a light white canvas with a violet accent and floating hearts (“Mood ring, friends locked”). GeoCities Neon is also dark but leans on a vivid cyan accent and a slow-twinkling starfield (“Under construction GIF”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
