About the Xanga Diary template

What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Inkbloom, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Write like nobody's reading. Someone is.” and the subhead says “Inkbloom is a cozy blogging home with mood tags, a hand-picked blogroll, and comments only from people you follow back.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Xanga Diary, you replace Inkbloom with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Xanga Diary is a dark template: a deep violet background (#1e0a3c), pale violet type (#e9d5ff) and a light violet accent (#a78bfa) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 13.3:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with petals drifting down, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Manifesto layout, shared with 93 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Xanga Diary's own.

How it compares
Within Y2K, Xanga Diary stands out for its light violet accent on a deep violet ground. If it is not quite right, LiveJournal flips to a light white canvas with a violet accent and floating hearts (“Mood ring, friends locked”). GeoCities Neon is also dark but leans on a vivid cyan accent and a slow-twinkling starfield (“Under construction GIF”). Angelfire is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and fireworks bursting (“Marquee text, midi loop”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
