About the 3D Pipes template
3D Pipes drifts through screen-saver dreamscapes—cyan tunnels on black void, the Windows screensaver that has lived in a million office computers. Built for Y2K enthusiasts, software-history buffs, and anyone who stared at pipes flowing through empty space while waiting for systems to boot. The palette suggests digital meditation in a pre-internet afterlife.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Tubeline, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Let your idle screen build something” and the subhead says “Tubeline is a generative screensaver that grows endless glowing pipe sculptures, then saves your favorites as wallpapers.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use 3D Pipes, you replace Tubeline with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
3D Pipes is a dark template: a near-black background (#0a0a0a), pale cyan type (#cffafe) and a vivid cyan accent (#22d3ee) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 17.7:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with circuit traces lighting up, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Cyber-Glitch layout, shared with 84 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are 3D Pipes's own.

How it compares
Within Y2K, 3D Pipes stands out for its vivid cyan accent on a near-black ground. If it is not quite right, Flying Toaster is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and clouds drifting past (“Bread morning sky”). Starfield Screensaver is also dark but leans on a white accent and stars streaking past at warp speed (“Old Win starfield”). Gel Pen Doodle flips to a light pale pink canvas with a violet accent and hand-drawn doodles (“Notebook glitter, pink ink”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
