About the Chess Club template
Chess Club inverts tradition—pale cream board with deep charcoal pieces, each positioned as though in a recorded game. Chess communities, strategy game platforms, competition leagues, and think-tank organizations use this because every move is deliberate and visible. Your referral leaderboard becomes the tournament standings.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Endgame, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Chess lessons, from opening to mate.” and the subhead says “Personalized chess training plans built from your own games. Stop blundering, start plotting.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Chess Club, you replace Endgame with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Chess Club is a light template: a white background (#fafaf7), charcoal type (#1c1917) and a near-black vermilion accent (#1c0e02) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.7:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with veined marble swirling, kept quiet behind the copy; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Chess Club's own.

How it compares
Within Dark Academia, Chess Club stands out for its near-black vermilion accent on a white ground. If it is not quite right, Fencing Salon flips to a dark deep teal canvas with a pale sky blue accent and flowing contour lines (“Sabre rack, mat green”). Rowing Blue flips to a dark deep blue canvas with a vivid amber accent and ripples spreading across still water (“Boathouse blue, oar”). Boarding School flips to a dark deep blue canvas with a red accent and an animated pages layer (“Crested blazer, tie”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
