About the Scala Red template

What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Kindred Types, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Functional ideas, one rigorous letter weekly.” and the subhead says “Kindred Types is a weekly newsletter unpacking one type-system idea with real code, clear diagrams and zero hand-waving.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Scala Red, you replace Kindred Types with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Scala Red is a dark template: a near-black background (#0a0a0a), pale red type (#fee2e2) and a red accent (#dc2626) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.2:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with a glowing hex grid, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Minimal layout, shared with 137 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Scala Red's own.

How it compares
Within Tech, Scala Red stands out for its red accent on a near-black ground. If it is not quite right, Terraform Purple is also dark but leans on a violet accent and stacking geometric blocks (“Infra-as-code violet”). Bento Grid 2.0 flips to a light white canvas with a charcoal accent and floating UI panels (“Apple-style precision with deep shadows”). Bio-Hacker Dashboard is also dark but leans on a vivid emerald accent (“Heart-rate pulse on a clinical dot grid”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
