What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Rebake, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Never rebuild the same thing twice” and the subhead says “Rebake caches build outputs by content hash across laptops and CI, so a clean checkout compiles in seconds.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Makefile, you replace Rebake with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Makefile is a dark template: a near-black blue background (#020617), green type (#bef264) and a vivid green accent (#84cc16) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 15.4:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with scrolling terminal output, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Matrix layout, shared with 16 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Makefile's own.

How it compares
Within Terminal, Makefile stands out for its vivid green accent on a near-black blue ground. If it is not quite right, Syslog is also dark but leans on a vivid blue accent and streams of data flowing past (“Pale grey logs, timestamp blue”). Solarized Dark is also dark but leans on a sky blue accent and a pulsing dot grid (“Selenized dark, syntax cool”). Solarized Light flips to a light cream canvas with a sky blue accent and an animated typewriter layer (“Pale yellow paper, ink syntax”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
