About the Editorial template
Italic serif typeface commanding headline space; dateline crisp above fold; magazine-cover gravitas. Editorial suits publishing platforms, journalism startups, or brands channeling newsroom energy. The palette is neutral print on cream—ink-stained authority. Your real-time analytics sit like a masthead, every signup a masthead revision.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches The Longhand, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “The slowest newsroom on the internet.” and the subhead says “One deeply reported story a week, set in serif, with zero hot takes and no autoplay video.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Editorial, you replace The Longhand with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Editorial is a light template: a white background (#f5f5f4), near-black type (#0c0a09) and a brown accent (#7c2d12) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 18.1:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with an animated type layer, kept quiet behind the copy; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. The layout is hand-built for Editorial and not shared with any other template in the catalogue.

How it compares
Within Art / Abstract, Editorial stands out for its brown accent on a white ground. If it is not quite right, Letter is also light but leans on a brown accent and an animated type layer (“Personal email format. Dear founder…”). Magazine is also light but leans on a red accent and halftone dot patterns (“Multi-issue grid. Subscription feel”). Manifesto is also light but leans on a near-black accent and dust motes floating in the light (“Long-form prose. Founder voice”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
Launch with Editorial in three steps
- Click “Use this template” and create a free account; Editorial is preselected in the page wizard.
- Replace the The Longhand demo copy with your product's headline and one-line pitch, pick a URL, and optionally set a launch date to show a real countdown.
- Publish and share the link. Every subscriber gets a personal referral link, and you watch signups and top referrers arrive in the dashboard.
