What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Deepsand, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “A campaign as big as the desert” and the subhead says “Deepsand is a tabletop RPG campaign book with giant burrowing beasts, nomad clans, and a map that shifts every session.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Shai Hulud, you replace Deepsand with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Shai Hulud is a dark template: a near-black vermilion background (#1c0e02), cream type (#fef3c7) and a vivid amber accent (#facc15) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.9:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with shifting sand dunes, front and centre; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Star Wars Galaxy layout, shared with 23 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Shai Hulud's own.

How it compares
Within Sci-Fi, Shai Hulud stands out for its vivid amber accent on a near-black vermilion ground. If it is not quite right, Matrix is also dark but leans on an emerald accent and green code raining down the screen (“Falling code rain. Pure cyberpunk”). Star Wars Galaxy is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and an opening crawl through a starfield (“Parallax starfield, far far away”). Terra Nova flips to a light pale orange canvas with a red accent and a rising sun and warm light (“New earth, dawn-pink”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
