About the Fossil Drawer template
Fossil Drawer descends into museum storage: dark brown-black background with tan-bronze accents and pale cream text evoking dusty specimen labels. Paleontologists, natural history museums, and vintage naturalists gravitate here because the palette feels archaeological—like unearthing something precious. Brown tones are warmer than pure black but no less serious, giving earthly gravitas appealing to audiences appreciating scientific rigor and historical authenticity.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches Specimen, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “A cabinet of curiosities, curated.” and the subhead says “Ethically sourced fossils and minerals with museum-style labels, delivered in a wooden drawer box.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Fossil Drawer, you replace Specimen with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Fossil Drawer is a dark template: a near-black vermilion background (#1c0e02), cream type (#fef3c7) and a brown accent (#a16207) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 16.9:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with topographic contour lines, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Manifesto layout, shared with 93 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Fossil Drawer's own.

How it compares
Within Dark Academia, Fossil Drawer stands out for its brown accent on a near-black vermilion ground. If it is not quite right, Library Burgundy is also dark but leans on a vivid amber accent and an animated pages layer (“Leather chairs, oxblood spines”). Parchment Serif flips to a light cream canvas with a brown accent and ink blooming through water (“Aged paper, ink quill”). Oxford Oak is also dark but leans on an amber accent and flickering candlelight (“Wood-panel walls, brass”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
