About the Newsprint template
Newsprint strips away all color but contrast—pure black ink on pale stock, recreating the tactile authority of printed headlines from the Information Age. For journalism startups, media newsletters, and news-analysis platforms, it whispers 'this is reportage, not opinion.' The monochromatic treatment forces typography to carry all meaning, rewarding careful headline writing. Qubed's analytics show which story angles drive the most engaged signups.
What the demo shows
The live demo on this page launches The Daily Grain, a made-up product we wrote to show the template with realistic copy: the headline reads “Morning news, printed the old way.” and the subhead says “A one-page daily digest of the stories that matter, delivered as a printable PDF with your coffee.” Below it you see the signup form, a demo launch countdown and the share-to-climb referral panel exactly as a visitor would. Try the form: in the demo nothing is stored. When you use Newsprint, you replace The Daily Grain with your own product name, headline, subhead and logo; the palette and motion come with it and every colour stays editable.
Design details
Newsprint is a light template: a white background (#f5f5f4), near-black type (#0c0a09) and a near-black accent (#0c0a09) on the join button, the countdown and the referral highlights. Body text sits at a 18.1:1 contrast ratio against the background, comfortably past the WCAG AAA threshold. Behind the copy the page animates with halftone dot patterns, clearly visible; visitors who ask their device for reduced motion get a still frame instead. Structurally it uses the Magazine layout, shared with 9 other templates, but the palette, the motion and the demo copy are Newsprint's own.

How it compares
Within Monochrome, Newsprint stands out for its near-black accent on a white ground. If it is not quite right, Contrast Max flips to a dark near-black canvas with a white accent and op-art stripes that vibrate (“Tarmac black + scream-white”). Halftone is also light but leans on a near-black accent and halftone dot patterns (“Dot screen print effect”). Marker Sketch is also light but leans on a near-black accent and hand-drawn doodles (“Hand-drawn lines, scrappy”). All of them share the same signup, referral and analytics features, so switching later only changes the look.
